This area is located just by the river. Originally five blind gates without pump have been maintained at the embankment by the river in order to prevent the reverse flow from the river on flooding. However, the area came to require the necessity of the forcible discharge of the inside water due to some floodings. Thus, the client decides to apply the pump gate system at the far right gate.
The existing blind gate is now being lifted for the replacement with the newly
fabricated pump gate at the far right.
Partial modifying work is performed at the existing concrete structure to meet
the newly applied pump gate. Guide frame is reinforced with newly designed
steel structure.
Newly designed pump gate is being lifted down along the reinforced
guide frame.
The pump gate sits at the far right position after the completion of the
erection while the left four blind gates are opened for the gravity flow.
The newly erected pump gate system makes a contribution to the disaster
prevention when floodings. The pump gate system looks fresh with green
grass against the blue sky on the summer.
